PHYSICAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is a moderate trek suitable for trekkers able to walk up to 8 hours a day carrying a backpack. Walking in higher altitudes is more physically demanding than walking in lower altitudes. With reasonable physical fitness, a positive attitude and strong determination, most people can accomplish this trek successfully. Regular exercise and walking/jogging uphill in the months leading up to this trek is important to build up your strength, endurance and cardiovascular fitness. Past hiking experience is helpful, but no technical skill is required for this trek. We recommend that you consult your doctor before the trip.
*Please note, participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood pressure conditions will be required to provide an assessment from a medical professional.

TREKKING TEAM
During our Inca Trail camping experience we will be accompanied by local guides and a team of porters carrying all necessary equipment, camping gear and food. This guarantees that the trek can proceed as planned, even if a group member(s) experience altitude sickness, fall ill or have an injury as they would need to be accompanied by a qualified professional guide and taken to a lower altitude.
